For more information in this assessment, please refer to http://www.umaccweb.com/diagnostic_tools/index.html

This training workshop is intended for clinicians interested in an introduction to the ADOS and is a first step for researchers in the process for establishing reliability. It uses a mixture of group lecture, demonstration, and scoring, as well as live practice using and administering the ADOS.

The ADOS course is intensive, and requires work to be completed PRE-COURSE and POST-COURSE. You will need to allow enough time for preparation and completion of pre-course work before attending these courses. Pre-course work requires that you have access to course materials, kits, and manuals, and that you have access to volunteer families, because you will be required to practice administering and coding the instruments and to video yourself doing this. You will also be required to watch a DVD that we send to you, which gives illustrations of each of the activities from the ADOS across Modules. This is all in order to familiarise you with the instruments prior to attending the course. Pre-course work typically takes around 6 hours to complete, but in addition you will need time to get the materials or kits and to find volunteer families with which to practice the instruments, so it is best not to leave it to the last minute.
