    Venue

This is the only clinical seminar on eating disorders and body dysmorphia in the British Isles which is based on a psychodynamic frame of reference.

This seminar is designed for experienced professionals working therapeutically either in private practice or in an institutional setting with patients with eating disorders, feeding difficulties and traits of body dysmorphia. The approach adopted is based on the thoughtful application of psychoanalytic principles and ideas.

The symptoms of the eating disorder are considered in terms of the underlying difficulties the patient has or has had in making relationships. Continuities between past and present, infant and adult experience are bserved and explored. Attention is paid to trauma and anxiety in early stages of life.

This seminar will be of particular interest to psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, and others who work with children, adolescents and adults.
