This monthly course is for professionals who have completed the Diploma in Applied Systemic Theory and wish to continue their professional development. The course is designed to meet the training needs of professionals working or hoping to work with couples, families and systems in Mental Health Trusts and other settings such as Social and Health Care and Voluntary Agencies.

Counselling practitioners in private practice may also find this course useful. Applications of theory and skills development to participants’ own agency will form a major part of the course.
Aims
This course will help you to:
• Further develop the theoretical framework needed to explore perspectives for working with individuals, couples, families, work groups and organisations
• Apply systemic ideas to your current practice
• Experience the application of systemic ideas in the context of your teaching and learning

Applicants to this course are expected to have completed their systemic training to Diploma level either at the Tavistock Clinic or other training institutions.
It is expected that you will belong to a work group or organisation and will be willing to share material from your work with other course members.
Time and Date
The course will take place on Thursday evenings, from 5.30 - 8.30pm. Dates will be published here in due course.
Structure
Each session focuses on a specific systemic theme. Discussion and exercises arising from monthly readings enable participants to apply systemic ideas to their own agency contexts and practice. Video material will be incorporated where available.
A Study Pack, containing relevant reading material, will be made available to all participants at the start of the course.
Course Tutor
Dr Jeanne Ziminski is a Systemic Family Psychotherapist, Tutor and Supervisor. She has a background in social work and works in a Tier 3 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, with an interest in working with families battling eating disorders and with those where autistic spectrum disorders have been diagnosed, as well as families involved with complex interagency systems. Her doctoral research related to therapeutic dilemmas in the kinship care of children.
