Disabilities and specific learning difficulties

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust welcomes students with disabilities and specific learning difficulties. We can offer advice and support for our students who may be concerned about the impact their disability could have on their training opportuntities.

The support we can offer includes:

Advice and guidance in applying for disabled students allowance (DSA).

  • Individualised help in accessing library resources.
  • Personal interview with senior academic staff before starting on a course.
  • Advocacy and support with your academic tutors
  • Advice and guidance from a named education and training disabilities lead

We encourage all applicants to come and see Paul Haviland, Student Lead Disability Officer for Education and Training, to have a confidential discussion about how we can support you in your studies.
