The mission of the Tavistock and Portman Library is to foster excellence in the academic, clinical and research endeavours of the Trust and to promote lifelong learning.
To address these needs, the library has developed a set of training sessions that promote good information skills. These skills empower library users to apply critical thinking in the retrieval, evaluation and use of information, to be confident in their information seeking abilities and to become lifelong learners.
Face-to-face training sessions are largely integrated into course curricula, discipline areas or areas of work in order to target the training appropriately. These sessions are further supported by online learning tutorials and the use of digital communication technologies.
