Tapcat the Library Catalogue

In this section:

As well as giving you the usual facilities that are found on a library catalogue. Tapcat has some exciting additional features:

  • Tapcat allows you to add your own tags to one of the items in the catalogue. It may be that you felt you would have found it more easily if the item had been indexed under another term. If so add it!
  • There are Google previews available when you see this icon next to the more detailed record on the catalogue.
  • You can add your own Reviews to an item on the catalogue.
  • Extend a Topic Search to Google Scholar and E-Prints the Trust’s Staff Publication Open Access Database, by clicking on ‘More Searches’ on the right hand side of the title details screen.
  • Staff publications are on the catalogue up until 2008. From 2008 onwards they can be found on E-Prints the Open Access Repository.
  • You can also share any details of material that you find by using ‘Share This’ at the foot of the Tapcat Home Page.
  • If you have forgotten the title/author of an item you have borrowed from the library, you can check your Reading History on Your Account
  • You can also check your Search History in Your Account and re-run it.
  • Add an RSS Feed to a search which will update when something new is added to it and notify you. Select the orange RSS icon and then follow the instructions.
