Assessment
Whilst you are studying at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust, assessment for your course will be governed by Tavistock assessment protocol. Your course handbook will tell you the assessment policy that applies to your course. The policies can also be read here. Through course design and review, the Trust utilises a variety of assessment methods to enable students to develop a range of skills.
Academic Integrity
The Tavistock takes issues surrounding academic integrity and academic misconduct very seriously. The Trust has two nominated Officers who investigate suspected cases of plagiarism or collusion. Your course handbook will tell you which policies in this area apply to your course. Policies can also be read here.
AEL/ACL
Accreditation of prior experiential or certified learning can be used to exempt students from a prescribed amount of a course (usually up to one half). Tavistock Admissions Tutors will be able to discuss this option with potential students. Through validation, some courses (or parts thereof) are excluded from this mechanism.
Academic Appeals
Academic Appeals are only possible on the grounds of administrative error or procedural irregularity. Your course handbook will outline what to do if you feel you have grounds for an academic appeal.
Disability and Dyslexia
If you have a disability or special learning need such as Dyslexia and you feel that you would like extra support relating to assessment, please contact Paul Haviland, Student Lead Disability Officer for education and training groupsadmin@tavi-port.ac.uk. Please click here for more information.
