Tavistock Quality Assurance and Enhancement Committee
The Tavistock has its own Quality Assurance and Enhancement Committee thatdeals with Quality Assurance issues across all the courses offered by the Trust. The Committee enjoys representation from the University of East London and the University of Essex. The Committee’s function is to discuss developments within course areas and promote the enhancement of the quality of learning and teaching as well as the student experience at the Tavistock. The Committee has a student representative who attends all meetings as well as a representative from one of the Tavistock’s Associate Centres where courses are run. Tavistock Research Ethics Committee (TREC)

The Tavistock Research Ethics Committee was formed in 2010 to provide our students with a specialised and more streamlined route to gain ethical approval for their research involving human participants. All Tavistock Masters level courses can uses the TREC to gain ethical approval, as well as Postgraduate Research Degree students studying with the University of Essex.

This Committee was formed in 2008/7 and reflects the structure of the University’s Schools each having a Sub-Committee of the University’s Research Degrees Sub-Committee (a Sub-Committee of the UEL Quality and Standards Committee). The School Committees review and recommend applications to register a research project, retrospective suspension of studies, change of supervision and examination arrangements to the University’s Sub-Committee. The Tavistock’s Sub-Committee may approved applications for suspension of study, changes of title of theses and applications for write-up status.
