The Tavistock appoints External Examiners for all of its university validated courses.
The number of examiners appointed to your course will be outlined in your course handbook. The role of the examiner is principally to assure the quality of learning and teaching on the course as well as providing a valuable outside perspective. External examiners attend Course Assessment Boards and Registration Boards where research proposals are considered. The Tavistock draws on a wide range of professionals in the field to act as External Examiners. External Assessors or experts are also employed during course reviews, validation and re-validation of courses and during reviews of the teaching provision offered by the Tavistock.
As part of the annual submission for the University of East London’s Review and Enhancement Process (REP) the Tavistock produces an Overview Report which provides a general assessment of the feedback received from External Examiners of UEL courses during the preceding academic session.
