Refugee Care (ref. M35)
Offers a systematic framework that assists students to work directly with refugees and asylum seekers.
Who is this course for?
Open to all professionals and non-professional workers who are engaged in work with refugees in different capacities, from voluntary workers and social workers to managers and psychotherapists.
Aims
The programme prepares students:
- For work as competent, reflective and proactive workers with refugees/asylum seekers in a variety of different work settings and remits.
- To meet the challenges imposed by those wider societal parameters (e.g. changing legislation, political priorities, public opinion) that affect refugees directly and indirectly.
- To conceptualise and formulate refugee-related projects (for research and/or service purposes).
- Combines theoretical, practical and experiential modes of learning to address these aims
