The Adult Department offers tailored programmes to suit those who would like to further their studies in psychoanalytic psychotherapy but are time-restricted to attend our academic courses.
During the short term programmes, experienced mental health professionals can take part in the activities of the adult department while at the same time having the opportunity to have a personal tutor who will be available to discuss clinical and theoretical aspects of their experience. Depending on availability, these activities may include attending workshops on transference, trauma, personality disorders, working with the medically ill, and working with couples. It will also include attendance to departmental clinical and scientific meetings, which will offer an insight into the interface between the department’s clinical work and the structure of the UK National Health Service.
Programmes can be organized for a minimum period of one week and a maximum period of two academic terms (20 weeks).
