Supervision: A Psychological Approach (ref. D67)
The BPS quality standards for psychology services make clear the increasing importance that is attached to supervision. This course has been developed in the context of the BPS requirements on educational psychology services to provide supervision, and also the move to three year training.
Who is this course for?
Educational psychologists with supervisory responsibilities or those wishing to develop skills and experience in this area, as well as those looking for a short course on supervision which offers both a theoretical base and practical experience.
Aim
To develop and extend educational psychologist's knowledge about, and skills in, supervision.
Content/Teaching components
- Develop your own reflective practice through supervision
- Provide quality supervision for colleagues and educational psychologists in training.
- Support the development of supervisory structures in your own service.
- Become more familiar with systemic, psychoanalytic, group dynamic and multi-agency approaches to supervision.
Time commitment
Five full-day sessions from 9am to 5pm:
Fridays 16, 23 and 30 September 2011
and
Fridays 9 and 16 December 2011
